JD grew up in the rural community of West Gore nestled in the Rawdon Hills Nova Scotia. It was here in these surroundings that his love for music grew into a dream. He learned to play guitar at a young age and continued to pursue his musical dreams from there. To meet him at first you would see him as being shy and not looking for attention but give him a guitar and a stage well look out! Even though JD would never say himself that he is a natural entertainer he would say he finds a great comfort from being on stage in front of a large audience. Today JD is on his way to becoming Canada's newest sensation in Country Music. This award winning singer songwriter now from Elmsdale Nova Scotia won the Music Nova Scotia award for Country Recording of the year. He's had 13 singles on Country radio right across Canada. His single I Hope You're Satisfied went to 20 on the Country Music News Top 100 Canadian Country Artists. His star is rising fast in the country music scene.
All of the artists that I’ve worked with as a producer posses a redeeming talent in one or more areas in the process of making good modern country music. JD Clarke has talent in all of them. From the very first home recording on which he performed all the instruments and wrote and sang all of his own vocals I was truly blown away. These are just the obvious attributes JD clearly is gifted in but the other often underestimated characteristics that are as much a part of a successful career are there in JD as well. By that I mean a sense of adventure and the importance of utilizing his born talents to their maximum. He also has a natural charisma that the lack of sometimes hinders an otherwise great artist.
