I have been singing since the age of 12 having many idols such as Whitney Houston Olivia Newton John Martina McBride and Reba McIntire to name a few. My story is Life Happens! At the age of 22 I married and started a family with my dream of being a singer put aside. Then at the age of 34 I was diagnosed with MS and then in 2005 at the age of 38 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I have gone though Chemo Bi-Lateral Mastectomy and Radiation in 9 months. Right now I am a 5 year survivor of Breast Cancer and my MS is in remission. During my sickness I had found that my singing gave me strength when I was weak and it became a healing element during my darkest days. I have written a legacy book two original songs and also been the chairperson for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and their signature event “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk in Fort Wayne IN. In 2005 at the walk I had the opportunity to sing. I sang the song Stronger Than Before by Olivia Newton John. I remember when I was young I would listen to Olivia Newton John on 8 track tapes. LOL Within the last couple of years I had began to feel the need to get back to my dream and in doing so I started Karaokeing with my friends at least 1 time a week. I also had begun writing songs and find that I cannot only express myself through other people’s songs but even through my own written word. I have had a company in Nashville TN produce two of my original songs to demo work. Not only have I started writing but also have been in the recording studio producing covers with my own voice. In closing I have been through a lot in my life and I want to make sure that I live life to its fullest.
