Started playing guitar at the age of fifteen guitarist and songwriter Dave Grinnell finally established his first album entitled Better Days Longer Nights. Dave began his journey to music when growing up listening to his uncle's local band from California. Dave became strongly influenced by his uncle's music that he hoped maybe one day he could be like him. From an early age Dave picked up the drums just like his uncle but Dave soon found out that the drums wasn't his suit.
Through Dave's childhood years he started listening to other bands that began to influence him. Bands and musicians like Eric Clapton The Eagles The Police and AC/DC. From listening to these bands Dave began to have a strong keen urge to play the guitar. Finally in the Christmas of 2006 Dave received his first guitar.
In the fall of 2007 Dave began to take lessons from a teacher from his school that played guitar. While under the teachings of his high school teacher Dave began to have a strong love for songwriting.
In 2008 Dave started learning from another guitarist named Eric Potapenko who is renowned in the successful local band from Cleveland Ohio Gravity. Under Potapenko's teaching Dave became more keen in his guitar playing ability and songwriting. Potapenko introduced Dave to more styles exposing him to other artists that influenced him like John Mayer Dream Theater Steve vai and Joe Satriani. During the 2008 year in Dave's high school many people began recognize Dave's guitar and songwriting ability at the 2008 Bedford High School Talent show.
In 2009 Dave wanted to expand further than just playing at the high school. In the summer of 2009 Dave began playing gigs around his hometown starting at the DiJulius Cafe of Downtown Bedford. Dave once again in the fall of 2009 entered his high school talent show rocking the house down. After the crowd reaction and the success of his performance Dave decided to enter Cleveland's Tri-C High School Rock-Off in the beginning of 2010.
In 2010 Dave made it to the Rock-Off playing at Cleveland's own House of Blues making it to the semifinals. In the semifinals Dave placed on the top five but it wasn't enough to move on to the final round. However Dave was announced as one of four of the solo artists that made it to the rock-off defeating many of Cleveland's local bands that attempted to be in the contest.
Since the rock off in January Dave has been offered many shows including at Kent Ohio The Haiti Benefit Concert held at his school raising money for those in need in Haiti the first annual Bacon Fest held in Hinckley Ohio and grand openings around the town of Bedford. In August of 2010 Dave's single Emily was featured in a radio station in Germany Crazy Zim San Show. Finally the release of Dave's first album Better Days Longer Nights and his second album released in the spring of 2011 History Warfare this artist continues to impress the people that come across his music....(Read less) |
