HOMEGROWN is a hip hop crew based out of Mississauga and Toronto Ontario who represent that mature vibe that is missing in todays music. Groomed by influences from the golden era of hip hop and music in general this crew makes a conscious effort to take it back to the essence of hip hop...hard beats and raw rhymes. As individual emcees established in our own right and repping our respective crews (Introspect iNA from iQ Movement. Lep from Fatal Phonetics. Es from Gill Breathing) we each bring a different flavour that makes us a force to be reckoned with.
“Four emcees... four voices...four minds...raw rhymes come together as one...” as quoted in one of our joints entitled “STRUCTURE” accurately represents what we bring to the table as well as the approach that we take to writing and creating. Uniting through mutual friendships with Introspect (Stefan Tochev) in early 2009 Lep (Lamine Martindale) Es (Eseme Elango) and iNA (Bhalinder Bedi) we put in some work and recently released our debut album titled “BIN DOIN THIS” in March 2011.
HOMEGROWN is a group shaking up the Canadian scene a Hip Hop awakening. Creating their sound and honing their talent from pure passion and dedication there are no gimmicks when it comes to HOMEGROWN. Their content and vision is their own and not commercially created for any sense of gain. HOMEGROWN is the movement. BIN DOIN THIS is the first installment of the movements soundtrack.
