Carrying around a travel guitar and singing wherever she's welcome has been working well lately for New Jersey born and raised Amanda Rose Riley. For the past few years she has been writing eclectic acoustic guitar songs from the punk-inspired to the humorous to insightful ballads that bring out the best of her sweet but distinctive voice.
She dubbed herself the resident itinerant musician on Flogging Molly's Salty Dog Cruise the past two years wandering around singing for anyone who would listen and writing special theme songs for each cruise. She quickly caught the attention of artists on board which enabled her to informally support and play with the likes of Frank Turner Beans on Toast and Will Varley. This year she was even asked to play her newest cruise theme song for the official welcome party toast.
She has been no less persistent on land playing everywhere she can- traditional or nontraditional- in the New Jersey and New York City area. She's even making her mark across the pond in England where she has opened for Chris T-T completed a recent tour of DIY gigs busking and open mics and played an official fan pre-party for Frank Turner's Lost Evenings festival.
Her debut release (aside from the bedroom-recorded Best of the Throwaway Song of the Week) on the fitting theme of her love for music will be out in 2018.
