Creative Passionate Sincere and Humble” are just a few words that describe Gospel Recording Artist/Songwriter Evelton (TJ) Foster.
TJ was born and raised in the Oak Cliff sector of Dallas Texas and has been singing in church since the age of 5. At age 8 he began to perform with his father’s gospel group The Gospel Stylistics. Over the years TJ has ministered through song in countless venues.
TJ graduated from David W. Carter High School and attended college on a full football scholarship at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. After graduating with a BA Degree in Mass Communications/Broadcasting and Theater TJ began a career working with inner city juveniles in Dallas TX. After spending several years in juvenile detention he is currently a fulltime teacher and high school football coach. Although he is now devoted to pursuing a full-time career in gospel music TJ still honors his commitment to teach and coach the student athletes that depend on his support.
His musical influences include but are not limited to: Donnie Hathaway Stevie Wonder Fred Hammond Dave Hollister John P. Kee Kirk Franklin and many more.
(Spring 2015) TJ FOSTER released his new hit gospel single “Battle Cry.” A local music industry critic believes “This single is exactly what the gospel music industry has been looking for.”
