Anyone who has seen Ryan Daniel perform can tell you that he connects with the crowd. He makes every member of the audience feel like they are the most important person there. It has always been like that whether he was performing before his fellow classmates in high school or for the thousands of fans during his tour with “Tops in Blue.” Ryan served as a proud member of the United States Air Force for 9 ½ years. He has been deployed to the Middle East several times to serve in our fight for freedom.
While in the service he was ed to join the elite musical touring group “Tops in Blue.” As a featured vocalist Ryan performed many solos throughout the show as well as intricate a cappella pieces with the male quartet. Additionally Ryan performed the demanding choreography required. As a member of this prestigious musical production presented by the Air Force Ryan toured all over the world entertaining an estimated 250000 troops and civilians alike. This opportunity led to him meeting his producer and “Tops in Blue” music director Barry Best. Ryan cites Garth Brooks as one of his major influences. “When I perform a song I really get into it I want the audience to feel what I'm feeling” says Ryan. “Reaching out to your audience with your voice and your emotions is what I love to do” - I think Garth does it better than anyone else!”
Ryan began his musical journey in 2005 when he decided to depart the military and pursue his dream of a music career. In the years following Ryan has had many successes along the way. Ryan has performed at numerous military installations in the Southeast region promoting his debut single “A Silent Movie.” His debut single also received major airplay on WKML in Fayetteville NC where it was 1 on the top 5 at 5:00 for 2 weeks. Always being a major supporter of his military family Ryan has performed twice at the Shades of Green Resort in Orlando Florida located at Disney World. He has teamed up with Wal-Mart and Coca-Cola to do Grand Openings of the Super Centers located in North Carolina and Tennessee. In 2008 Ryan and his band competed in a Battle of the Bands put on by BoDog Music. Among the 10000 band competing Ryan was the only country act to make it to the finals.
In 2010Honky Tonk Holiday and Unknown Soldier were certified No. 1 and 3 respectively on the International Association of Independent Recording Artists (IAIRA) music charts. Ryan performed again for the military and their families at Irwin Intermediate School. This opportunity allowed him to support PAGE a non-profit organization to support Gifted Education. The venue wrapped up with Ryan performing “Unknown Soldier” in memory of a fallen soldier who left behind a wife and son in March. He also worked with the Officer’s Wives Club to raise money for grants.
2011 took Ryan and his band to North Carolina South Carolina and Virginia. Ryan took the time to perform at two schools located on Fort Bragg. Gordon Elementary welcomed Ryan to perform the National Anthem to open their Patriot Day celebration and afterwards Irwin Intermediate School welcomed back Ryan and the band for another performance. The original date was rained out but Ryan and the guys returned for an encore performance and rocked the house! Ryan also performed for two fraternities and at Oktoberfest on Fort Bragg. One of Ryan’s biggest accomplishments was being named as nominee for the Carolina Music Awards in the Male Country Vocalist Category.
2012 has been busy for Ryan thus far. He has increased his performances by 300 from last year! He has performed in NC and SC at several new venues to include Cactus Jack’s where he headlined the Grand Opening. Ryan has also performed in Orlando FL to support the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity in an effort to raise money for the ALS Foundation which is working on a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease. He returned to play the Fort Bragg Fair and most recently played in Vance County North Carolina where close to 5000 fans came out to watch Ryan Daniel and celebrate the Fourth of July. While Ryan has met many milestones in his career being named the 2012 Charlotte Music Award Country Showcase winner is definitely one to be ranked at the top!
