Born Josue Manuel Velez to a 15-year-old mother in Danbury CT Man-u-iLL grew up from a problem child to a troublesome teen and now at age of 30 he has learned from his life experiences and is using them to benefit himself and others by way of music. As an independent artist with limited financial support and professional backing he is focused moving strong as ever and is convinced that one day soon he will be considered among Hip Hops best.
Man-u-iLL has performed on stages across the Tri-State has placed in top spots if not won every showcase/competition he has been in including 93.7’s unsigned showdown 2 years in a row. He’s made the front page of NewEnglandHipHop.com twice in the last several months he has been featured on sites like allhiphop.com 2dopeboys.com and hiphopdx.com to name a few. His music is highly respected from fans to other artists and he is slowly but surely sparking interest including some from overseas. He is at the forefront of a new reality show that focuses on upcoming artist and their struggles “(Behind the Unsigned)” in which his webisode was premiered on Thisis50.com. The show itself is currently being considered as a series for the Fuse Network. Other than that Man-u-iLL is busy running his own business “iLL iNK Graphic Printing Services”
Although his music has token a backseat to his business he remains pushing forward with his efforts. iLL iNK serves as a branding of sorts and also a form of much needed financial support. Life is a game of chess and he continues to make moves that will ultimately put him in the position he deserves. Man-u-iLL is learning how hard it actually is to make it in this industry but like any other business the foundation is being built and things are starting to fall into place.
For someone who has spent a little more than half of the past decade incarcerated Man-u-iLL is well on his way to making his a dream a reality and he is working on bettering himself and his circumstances as each day passes he has been blessed to have a strong support system and lyrical ability. He is really in need of mass exposure professional direction financial stability but is working with what he has and hoping for the best.
