Way back in 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Taji Iraq a U.S Soldier by the name of Jarod Hewett was searching for something different odd and very intense. Playing drums in metal bands prior to his deployment he was also trying to keep his mind active in music with the little time he had off between missions! A laptop and a cheap microphone he had acquired by trading a local Iraqi a bar of soap 2 pairs of socks and a pack of smokes the deal had been made and Jarod was off to create in his mind the next best thing to sliced bread! After working over a few beats and writing some very basic lyrics he began to show his fellow comrades and that’s when he realized that there was a lot of work to do before he was to “wow” anyone. Changing the pitch of his voice and speeding up the riffs seemed to be the first step in the process he also started experimenting in different genres and combining them into one melting pot of madness! Thus Steve Cheese And The Wannabes was created. Writing songs about the issues in Iraq to the people he lived with nothing ever really come out of them! Steve Cheese’s First full length (Plastik-2005) contained hits like Someone Made Me Cry and Ralph Buckets had some success but Steve Cheese was ready to release his 2nd full length titled (Free Base Your Face-2007) was more along the metal genre also seen some good feedback but nothing to write home about. Currently Steve Cheese is working on his live performance and a new album set to be out by the Spring of (2012).
