The group Billion Dollar Ballers was formed in Chicagos Logan Square neighborhood a place where summer nights showcase local parks displaying teddy bear memorials for the many children caught in drive by crossfire. The up and coming record Candy Days releasing May 4th is a mind opening and refreshing style from these respected artists. After releasing multiple gang and street related albums they are taking a new stand in the Rap industry. “Coming off of our last tour I was really bored listening to 99 of the opening acts. Most of them were rapping about things that they were definitely NOT doing. In a world so filled with negativity why are there so many people who are not going through that negativity writing songs about it as if they were going through it? Part of it could be creative but most of it is just plain old fakeness and fronting. So I decided I would do what they were all scared of doing. I decided to write an album that was nothing but fun happy childish and as un gangster as I could possibly be..loland I felt like God was asking me who’s side are you on? Get off that negativity! Zlatco Hukic(aka Marz) founder of BDB. In 2004 Marz started his own record label Billion Dollar Ballers Entertainment. He released TGZ Nation -The Mixtape under this label. In 2005 Marz performed at Power 92 Chicago’s Summer Fest. Marz tracks are featured in several films including Life and Lyrics (2006 - Whut It Do and Video Tape It) and Its a Boy Girl Thing (2006 - Red Carpet Pimpin). He also appears in the Ministry performance film Sphinctour. Marz himself released multiple Street Gang related albums with a Midwest hood classic 99 Riches and toured with Korn Paul Wall and TECH N9NE. BDB took a step ahead and left behind the negativity and is crossing into a more creative rap which features a positively catchy club style with several unique abilities. To articulate sans cussing without the popular glamorizing of gang violence void of the promotion of drugs and alcohol all while conspicuously missing the sometime genre appeal Hip-Hop can carry by degrading women and glamorizing promiscuity.
