Quick Grizza a.k.a. Lorenzo Walker was born on March 14th 1978 to Ernest Rochelle Walker. His mother is a church going – god fearing woman while his father is the total opposite making this artist extremely versatile in all that he does. Rod (a family member) and two of his cousins had a rap group in the local area called Cold Crush Crew and that’s when this artist became a straight fire mc. He would sit in the living room while they rehearsed and would soon after write his rhymes on the school bus with the older kids and they would laugh telling him to give it up. Listening and growing up to Big Daddy Kane KRS One LL Cool J. and Run DMC plus many more made him realize that this was what he wanted to do. He went forward working on his skills and delivery and by the time he got to middle school people were telling him to “spit another “. He never really knew how to get in the game but would always keep writing. The stress he would encounter being unable to support himself and his family the way he wanted to made him more serious about the business. He started reading information with his friends and local acts from the Tri – Cities put out a cd and made some money. Around the house and in the hood people started liking the sounds that they heard so then started his open mic night string that jam packed the venue a couple of weeks in a row (Petersburg Va’s House of Comedy then being noticed to the point of being invited to open up for Souja Boy in North Carolina at Elizabeth City State University. The crowd really appreciated the sound of Quick and the buzz built and continued. He was proud of what he accomplished but still did not feel that he had reached his full potential selling only a couple hundred CD sets the were put together and that’s when I bumped into Tuff Luvv Entertainment while at an open mic night. There is progress working with the Big Apple Dream who also found that Quick Grizza is directly related by blood to Ella Fitzgerald through his cousin Oscar in California so it’s only going to get better as we learn his background in music and he develops as an artist.
