Liverball is a punk rock band from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in the United States formed in 1991. The bands continual members are guitarist Ray Kolcun guitarist Buck Knauer and singer Joe Triglia. Current members included are bassist Jonathan Bagamery and drummer Ernest Wilson.
Liverball’s biggest success came about from their 7 vinyl single Liar released on Get Hip Records in 1997. They released several EPs on Ripe Records and were included on the Iron City Punk compilations featuring other popular Pittsburgh bands Anti-Flag Aus Rotten Bad Genes Submachine and Wormhole X. They also appeared on DaCore Records and other labels in the United States.
Liverball gained notice early on as a loud manic old-school style punk rock band being compared to the Stooges Black Flag and the Germs. They went on to carve out a niche in punk rock history by doing the opposite most bands were doing at the time. They played guitar solos. They had long hair. They had a front-man in the Jim Morrison Robert Plant Iggy Pop vein. They frequented shows with bands that ultimately pushed the local Pittsburgh punk scene into national and international stages.
Celebrating 20 years Liverball continues to play and record music.
