Ricky Retardo born Richard Emerson Jr. in Indianapolis IN. which is also where he was raised (on the Westside of town) is an upcoming rapper that’s making a great effort to push his young career far enough to make it into the industry. His first realization of his ability was at the age of 14 when he started reciting his poems in rhythmic style out loud. His poems were usually violent and filled with anger because it was the only way for him to release his thoughts because of problems with his father self-conflicts and basically everyday life. Later on in life he started a rap group called THB (Tru Head Bustas). Although they had started the group for fun they soon realized that the group had potential. With the help of of a young producer and another solo rapper who will remain nameless they made a demo cd which they distributed to the public for free which created quite a buzz. After two and a half years of not feeding off the buzz because of no efforts to take the next step Retardo left the group and decided to stay solo. He and the remainders of THB later teamed up with another solo artist Dat Boi to form an unsigned team of solo artists also known as “D.B.D. (Death Before Dishonor) Fam”. Since joining together to join such talents the rappers (D.B.D. Fam) have opened up for Webbie and Lil' Boosie on more than one occasion and will do more work with the Southern based rappers in the near future. Ricky Retardo is currently working on two mixtapes (I Do Dis and God Sent). He plans to his single after both mixtapes . Now after rapping and recording for 4 years at the age of 22 Retardo has learned to switch up his styles and can basically touch on any subject that there is to rap about. He’s mainly known for being a hype violent punch-line rapper but he is also versatile and can harmonize rap fast or slow and can create songs that the public can relate to. Ricky Retardo is in the process of getting his name up and creating a bigger fan base by performances putting songs on the radio and having his songs played in parties and clubs. He’s also opened up for artist such as Webbie and Lil’ Boosie on many of occasions and has performed at various locations throughout the city and out of state. With all this being said Ricky Retardo is on his way to have a place somewhere in the industry.
