It all started on May 23 1984 at 10:10a.m at Harlem Hospital in Manhattan New York . A young man by the name of Alan Steven Simmons Jr. was born weighting in at 7lbs 11oz. but didn’t stay in New York long because his mother Jacquetta A. Simmons had other plans for her third child an only son. At the age of 3 Alan a.k.a (SO REAL) moved from Harlem to a little town in Eastern Kentucky by the name of Pikeville.
While staying in Kentucky he ran into a lot of obstacles being the only African American in the whole town besides his two sisters which go by the names of ShaRhonda E. Simmons the oldest and Alena .S Simmons. After staying in Pikeville Ky. for 10 yrs (SO REAL) then moved further south to Atlanta Georgia because the environment was not working for the young man. While staying in Atlanta he attended Frederick Douglass High School which is located off of H. E Holmes Dr. formally known as Hightower in West Atlanta . While attending Douglass he played Football Baseball and Basketball all on the Varsity level.
Graduated in 2003 and went on to pursue secondary education at Florida AM University for a year (2004) and the following year at Alcorn State University were he concentrated all his time into Baseball. Alan a.k.a (So Real) then moved back to Atlanta in 2005 not for school but just because he wanted to be home. With no plans for his next move he looked to the streets for answers. He then started trying to make money on the streets but ended up just digging a deeper hole to no where. While being in and out of trouble he started using that same energy to put music together as an artist and not just a rapper. The Young Atlanta Native (SO REAL) from Campbellton Rd. (ZONE 4) is now in the hands of B-ROCK ENT.
